Jaime's 17-year career as a freelance photographer has taken her to over thirty countries spanning six continents, providing documentary travel and lifestyle imagery for commercial and editorial clients worldwide including The New York Times, Vogue Living Australia, Dwell, Wallpaper, Condé Nast Traveler and Delicious Magazine.
Jaime is equally comfortable photographing maternal health stories in rural Africa as she is photographing celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Goldie Hawn and Justin Timberlake. She has photographed his Holiness the Dalai Lama, worked for Amnesty International and developed editorial content for a private foundation that supports development work in Liberia, where she met the country’s first female President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
Her award-winning book Waking Up the West Coast: Healers and Visionaries was published in 2006 . It was a three-year project where she photographed and interviewed 118 experts throughout British Columbia, Canada in the categories of social responsibility, politics, education, arts, culture and health. New Society Publishers distributed Waking Up the West Coast in 2006 throughout North America. It won a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Independent Publisher's Awards, and was named a 2007 Nautilus Book Awards Finalist. The foreword was written by Dr Andrew Weil, named by Time Magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Jaime is equally comfortable in front of the camera and has been a guest speaker on photography and sustainability at distinguished events including the 2010 Pecha Kucha Night Vancouver to a sold out audience of 2200 people, the City of Vancouver Ideas Slam, and the Green Living Show, where she shared the main stage with Canada’s former Ambassador to the UN Stephen Lewis.
Jaime was nominated as a '40 under 40' by Palm Springs Life Magazine in 2014 and featured on the cover of Thrive Magazine as a proponent of creativity in business in 2015. Today, Jaime is one of the newest Tumi Brand Ambassadors exemplifying the qualities of entrepreneurialism and creativity through her work, travel and keen design aesthetic. The Tumi global campaign launches January 2018.
Jaime works in partnership on many assignments with writer Shannon Harley to offer unique and complete editorial package of compelling storytelling combining words and imagery to create highly curated and intelligent travel content. The duo provide a responsible primer to global destinations, highlighting those pioneering in the realms of sustainability, social responsibility, equality and creative arts while creating a tangible sense of place for readers.
In addition to her busy photography career and creative collaborations, Jaime is the co-founder of a number of lifestyle and design-oriented hospitality projects including the boutique hotel properties The Amado, The Junipero, The Ferg and The Wilk, the coffee shop Ernest Coffee and tiki bar Bootlegger Tiki.
Jaime is based between Los Angeles and Palm Springs, California.
